The aim of wireless is to extend the benefits of the ISI Stack to all devices via wireless connections while retaining the manageability, scalability, and security of the wired network. Structured wireless solutions eclipse the 1st generation unstructured wireless solutions available through the use of a centralized controller that manages Lightweight Access Points (LAPs). ISI recommends, resells, and installs structured wireless solutions manufactured by Cisco Systems, Inc.

Services that can be delivered via a structured 802.11 a/b/g wireless solution include data, voice, IP surveillance, video conferencing, public safety, emergency dispatch, RFID, and location tracking both in an indoor and outdoor setting.

Cisco Wireless LAN Controller - The 2106 series Cisco wireless LAN controller will let you stack up to 6 managed wireless access points. The access points do not require any individual configuration, as they automatically pull their configuration directly from the 2106 Controller. Access points will automatically create a large, wireless mesh network and clients will be able to roam from access point to access point after authenticating only once. 3 additional 2106 controllers can be added to support up to total access points.

Cisco WLC NME Module - NME form factor wireless lan controllers fit nicely inside an NME slot on supported Cisco ISR routers to provide an integrated wireless LAN controller solution which supports up to 24 wireless access points per NME module. These modules support 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n. 802.1X, EAP-TLS, and RADIUS authentication are also supported.

Indoor Cisco Access Points - Cisco access points come in several light-weight and non-light-weight flavors and depending on model can support 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11a, and 802.11n. Light-weight access points are be automatically configured via the use of a Cisco wireless LAN controller. Non-light-weight access points can be configured individually via a web interface. Cisco access points are extremely small (1131 model shown, click to enlarge), and can be mounted on drop ceiling tile frames, or even set on top of ceiling tiles to be completely hidden from view. A multi-color LED-lit ring on the AP changes color based on state.

Indoor Rugged Cisco Access Points - Indoor ruggedized Cisco access points provide all of the benefits of standard Cisco access points with the added benefit of a ruggedized metal casing. These access points still provide the same light-weight and non-light-weight options as non-ruggedized indoor access points. Despite their metal casing, ruggedized access points are still light weigh enough to be easily hung on drop ceiling grid, and like the non-ruggedized models, also come with mounting plates for mounting on flat surfaces like walls, posts or finished ceilings. The 1240 model is shown (click to enlarge).
