To achieve all the benefits of the ISI Stack it is critical that the bottom most level of the stack be set up properly to support higher levels of the stack. To properly implement this level of the stack every organization must provide a secure, controlled, physical location for equipment to reside, a reliable power connection, and error-free cabling to communicate with other areas of the system. ISI contracts with various mechanical contractors to provide the licensed services required for proper facilities preparation with local partners such as Feyen Zlystra.
Physical Access - Physical access requirements for a secure system always dictate that a secure room with only authorized and approved access be procured for each and every MDF and IDF within the system. This ensures that only those individuals with authorized access are able to physically reach equipment and infrastructure critical to the system. ISI recommends, resells, and installs secure physical access equipment manufactured by APC.
Power - High voltage systems are required to power the logic and backplane systems of each physical component connected to all the systems connected within the ISI Stack. Both clean power and the protection and continued delivery of clean power are critical at this level. ISI recommends, resells, and installs UPS power equipment manufactured by APC.
Structured Cabling - Proper certified cabling is critical for the proper transmission of Layer 1 signaling between components within the system. This cabling infrastructure utilizes many different media types, but typically consists of Cat5e / Cat6 or SX/LX fiber strands.
